Safeguarding and Help and Support image

At Herschel Grammar school, the safety and wellbeing of all pupils is of the utmost importance.

No child should suffer harm, either at home or at school. Everyone who works at Herschel Grammar School has a responsibility to make sure that all our young people are safe.

What do we mean by safeguarding?

Safeguarding is defined as:

  • protecting children from maltreatment
  • preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health and development
  • ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and
  • taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

If you have concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing you should contact a member of the safeguarding team using the safeguarding email address:

The safeguarding team for 2021-22 is:

Designated Safeguarding Lead: Mrs Katrina Rodriguez
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads:  Mrs Catherine Sharpe
  Mr Chris O’Donnell
  Ms Jo Rockall
  Mr Graham Parsons
